KU Professor Dr. Mansoor Ahmed laid to rest, KU VC Dr. Ajmal expresses deep sorrow

KU VC Prof Dr Muhammad Ajmal Khan has expressed deep condolences on the sad
demise of former Registrar KU and Vice Chancellor Nazeer Hussain University
Professor Dr. Mansoor Ahmed. He added that Dr. Mansoor was a globally
recognized scientist in the field of pharmacy and herbal medicine and his
services for the promotion of these subjects will always be remembered.

Dr. Mansoor joined KU in 1975 as lecturer, promoted as Assistant Professor
in 1986, Associate Professor in 1989, Professor in 1997 and became
Meritorious Professor in 2008. He also served as Visiting Professor in
various foreign universities. He held various posts in KU including
Registrar, Secretary Affiliation Committee, Acting Director BCC&T, Dean
faculty of Pharmacy, Chairman Dept of Pharmacognosy and Chairman
Equivalence Committee. Meanwhile Director General KIBGE KU, Prof. Dr. Abid
Azhar also expressed condolence on his demise and termed his contributions
in the filed as pivotal in the promotion of herbal medicine.

Dr. Mansoor Ahmed’s funeral prayers were offered at Jamia Masjid Ibrahim,
KU and was attended by a large number of teachers and students including
the Vice Chancellor Dr. Ajmal Khan, former Vice Chancellors Prof. Dr.
Muhammad Qaiser, Sardar Yasim Malik, Dean Faculty of Pharmacy Prof. Dr.
Iqbal Azhar, President KUTS Prof. Dr. Jameel Kazmi, Prof. Dr. Iqbal
Chudhary and Prof. Dr. Abuzar Wajidi. Dr. Mansoor Ahmed was laid to rest in
KU graveyard.
