Karachi:(Staff Reporter)Grand Master Syed Sakhawat Ali said Women must take her responsibility of the self defense which is must demanding need of our society. He was addressing fourth session of Women Self Defence Program “Her Safety First” jointly organized by Govt. Islamia College for Women Saddar and Govt.Degree Girls College Lines Area Karachi. Akhtar Inayat Bhurgari, Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs department, Sindh was the Chief guest and Dr. Afshan A Rubab Syed, Administrator, ZMC South has presided over. Syed Shakawat Ali briefed about the current trend in our society that if women attack by men, then she only shout and loose her power of resistance. Girls can defense herself by using hand techinques, with their nails and hairpins etc: He also told that strike must be with full force, spontaneous and repitative. He demostrated the striking styles to attack on the lower portion of body of the attacker. Sakhawat Ali mentioned that men and women are same but our society not changing their own trends, we started this program as a social service and we are very much willing to expand it’s network in all over Pakistan and playing our positive role to stop violence against women. Ghulam yasin was the chief organizer, while Fozia Falak was the coordinator. Other dignitaries present were Prof. Sakina Sammoo,Prof Samira Sabih, Prof Rabia Muneer, Prof Samira Akhund, Haji Ghulam Muhammad Khan, M. Khalid Rehmani, Asghar Azeem, Syed Qalb e Muhammad, Haseeb Aslam, Fahad and a large number of teachers and students learned and enjoyed this unique program.
