JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM opened in North America with an estimated $150 million, bumping last week’s champ, Incredibles 2, from the No. 1 spot.

According to THR, Fallen Kingdom opened 28% behind 2015’s Jurassic World ($202.5 million), but ahead of earlier projections of $130 million. It is the second biggest opening weekend ever for Universal Pictures, behind Jurassic World. It is also the third-biggest opening weekend of 2018 behind Avengers: Infinity War, Black Panther and Incredibles 2

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom has already been playing internationally for three weeks, where its overseas haul stands at $711.5 million to date, with $202.6 million coming just from China.

Incredibles 2 slipped to second place with an estimated $81.9 million. That’s the biggest second weekend in history for an animated movie. It’s earned $350.3 million domestically to date. Incredibles 2 fell 56% in its second weekend — one of the biggest drops for Pixar — but it also had the biggest opening weekend ever for an animated film with $182.7 million.
