Dr. A. Q. Khan Institute of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering (KIBGE),
University Of Karachi is organizing the Fourteenth Biennial Conference of
Pakistan Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (PSBMB) on
‘MOLECULAR BIOSCIENCES:RESEARCH & INNOVATIONS’, from December 09-12, 2018.
The noted nuclear scientist Dr A Q Khan will be the chief guest at the
inaugural ceremony of the conference on Sunday, December 09, 2018. Along
with the Vice Chancellor, University of Karachi, Prof. Muhammad Ajmal Khan,
the Director General KIBGE, Prof. Dr Abid Azhar, General Secretary PSBMB
Prof. Waheed Akhtar, President, PSBMB Prof. Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui and
others will address on the occasion. M. Ata ur Rahman Memorial Lecture is
scheduled to be delivered by Prof. S. N. Hasnain and is thekeynote speach
of the day.
The Conference has participants coming from across the country.
Lectures from invited and keynote speaker, include, Profs. Abid Azhar,
Abdul Hameed, Anwar Ali Siddiqui, Aqeel Ahmed, Asmat Salim, Kamran Azim,
Kauser Abdulla Malik, Muhammad Afzal, Muhammad Ismail, M. Iqbal Choudhry,
M. Waheed Akhtar, Shahida M. Qureshi, Shakeel A. Khan, Soroush Sardari,
Zabta Khan Shinwari, and others. An online video lecture on ‘Controlling
Human Risk Factors Associated with Life Sciences Research’ by Sean Kaufman,
from the US, is also scheduled. Apart from the lectures, oral and poster
presentation competitions are also planned for young scholars.
This event will be followed by a Post-conference Fourth Dr. A.Q. Khan
Winter School on ‘Modern Tools and Techniques Involved in Biotechnology.”
This workshop would be designed to provide the research students and
scholars with hands-on experience at the state-of-the-art laboratories of
KIBGE, University of Karachi.

KU conference on role of youth in relief and rehabilitation work for
constructive and prosperous Pakistan today
The Department of Political Science, University of Karachi, is organizing a
day-long conference on role of youth in relief and rehabilitation work for
constructive and prosperous Pakistan at the Arts Auditorium, KU, on
Saturday (today).
The provincial minister for Auqaf, Zakat and Ushr Faraz Dero would be the
chief guest whereas the KU Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr Muhammad Ajmal
Khan would preside the event.
The Department of Political Science, KU, has invited Senator Imam uddin
Shouqeen, Shahidah Rehmani, member National Assembly and former MNA Ali
Raza Abidi.
